Day to Day - Update

 

 

A few things, 'round these parts:


1. I pulled out some new and some old favourite fabrics the other day for a new bag I am working on, The JaJou. I uploaded a few prototypes into the shop and will upload more later this week. I really like this bag and I am keeping it exclusive to my Etsy shop so as to keep the price low. I am also planning a major update in the next two weeks if my plans for a photo shoot all go according to plan next week. I will keep you posted.


2.Last Friday I was a speaker at an event that Etsy held here in Toronto. This photo is of me being filmed by the Etsy film crew. It was a crazy experience and I was very nervous in the days leading up to it but, in the end, all turned out great, I think. I will see the footage in the next day or so.I think the video will air on the Etsy blog in about two weeks. Again, I will link to it here when it does.


3. Blurry photo of a stack of a selection of my huge collection of textiles. I was cleaning out old boxes and thought all my blankets and carpets looked so nice when all stacked up together.


4. Went to a wedding on the weekend on The Toronto Islands. The bride is Jamaican and there was a huge Caribbean contingent with steel drums for music, great food and of course, the best music to dance too. Such a fun time...

Pinterest Picks - Print & Pattern

As the Fall collection percolates in my head, I find myself looking increasingly at bold patterns, especially tribally influenced. Aren't these images stunning? I love all of them. All taken from my Pinterest boards.

Day to Day - Update

Around these parts: 

1.Late Spring in all its glorious full form with flowers blooming, gorgeous smells, balmy sunny days and warm nights. Love it! Last weekend was a long weekend here in Canada and it was full of fun times with friends.

2. On Saturday morning I discovered one of my neighbors left two large boxes full of fashion magazines. I had a blast picking out the latest Vogue's but I did look pretty ridiculous walking home with a stack of magazines so tall that it came up past my nose!

3.A stack of Stella Clutch's that went to a new shop on Queen Street here in Toronto, The Coal Miner's Daughter. It is a most lovely shop with some handmade stuff, some vintage, jewelry and the most pretty perfumes.

4. Another shot of the messy studio wall.

5. A trip to the thrift store. I can never resist buying these Asian jackets even though I never wear them. This one was particularly lovely as it has a pretty vintage floral motif.

Next, I have uploaded a few new items to the shop. I am really excited about these two fabrics as I too have fallen prey to the shapes craze of triangles and arrows. Both are also available in the Hazel shoulder bag as well. There's more where these came from - so many new fabrics coming in and hopefully everything new will be uploaded in the next two weeks. 

It has been supremely busy here with seven new shops here in Canada now carrying our wares. The good news is that if you are in Toronto, Montreal, Hamilton or Vancouver you can now buy in person at Room6, General54, The Textile Museum, The Coal Miner's Daughter or The Art Gallery of Hamilton. Yay!

Spring Spring Spring

I recently sourced some super soft, super pretty suede's in, you guessed it, pretty pastels. (and some other magnificent colors.) I will be introducing some new little clutch's and bags in the shop in a few weeks using some of them. I love the palette's in all of these photos, they have been inspiring me. Sorry for the such long blog hiatus. It has been a logistical sort of affair, I just re-designed my new website and was planning to switch everything over but in the end, have decided to stay with this site for blogging. So, we are staying put, with a bit of a facelift.

I am currently hanging out on the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a few days, enjoying some Atlantic ocean therapy and warmer temps, than in Canada at least. It has been a welcome respite and a good opportunity for me to get some behind the scenes work done, like designing a new website which will be launching later this month. Stay tuned, I will be updating this here blog much more frequently from now on. xo, a
