Pastels & Metallics

I thought I would do another post showing how I might pair the aqua and gold clutch in a couple different ways. When I designed the bag I was thinking about Spring & Summer weddings. But, as  shown here, I think it would look great with cutoffs and a little kimono jacket. You could even just wear a tank top with cutoffs and bring it all together with some beautiful accessories and shoes. By the way, how cute is that lace on the denim cutoffs? I sense a DIY project coming on!

A few things about these suede/metallic clutch's.
1. They were made with weddings in mind so if you are buying for your wedding party and you are looking for more than three, I will give you a discount.
2. The suede is actually available in a multitude of colors and I will be expanding the offerings in future seasons. For now I am offering mauve purple, aqua blue and pale pink. Any other color is by special request.

Look No. 1
1. Bead necklace by Anthropologie.
2.Gold shoes by Modcloth.
3.Lace dress from my Pinterest.
4. Our aqua & gold clutch, available in the shop.

Look No. 2
1. Jade kimono by Topshop.
2.Gold & Turquoise necklace by Anthropologie.
3. Our aqua & gold clutch, available in the shop.
4. Denim & lace cutoffs from Spool 72.
5. Gold shoes from Modcloth.

Our gold sale starts tomorrow (Wednesday)  morning at 10am and runs until Friday June 28th.

Etsy has a new venture in the works - Etsy Wholesale. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds as right now it is still in the Beta phase. The possibilities seem endless and it is really exciting. They launched a new tumblr/blog recently and I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of their featured vendors. You can check out the interview here. The blog is shaping up to be pretty awesome with some great business articles. Happy Monday!

Summer Solstice

Yesterday was the Summer Solstice and I can't think of a better reason not to work. Last week was rough - I submitted my taxes and my cat went missing (though he was found, thankfully). So, on Friday, since it was a gorgeous, perfect summer day, I decided to abandon my responsibilities and head to an amazing oasis, Toronto Island. The island is a special place, right downtown and accessible only by ferry with no cars allowed. But in order to get there you have to go through the hairiness of downtown, namely the financial district, the heavy traffic and it always feels like some sort of rite of passage. You have to really want it.

The island is divided into three smaller 'islands' or sections since it is really all one island. Ward's has all these adorable little cottage's and a restaurant. Centre Island is the most crowded and has an amusement park. I prefer Hanlon's Point as this is where all the best hidden beach's are. I found this little oasis and strung up my hammock, had a little picnic, a dip in the lake and just daydreamed and soaked in the sun. Afterwards I sat in the park and ate fish and chips. A perfect afternoon and way to ring in the summer if you ask me. Do you ever do anything to mark the start of summer?

Neutrality

Next week I am going to be having a pop up sale in the shop! The sale will include all of the gold related items - so the linen/gold and linen/leather clutch, gold pouch's and all of the pastel suede and gold items. More details will be announced here and on Facebook in the next few days so stay tuned.

Here though I thought I would show you guys how I personally would wear some of these featured items since they can actually be pretty versatile. The most versatile of the bunch is the linen/gold clutch which is a personal favorite of mine. This bag is quite neutral but the bit of gold gives it more of an edge and when you bring in the brown, you then have a pretty nice palette to work with. I think the natural fibres - like the linen and soft cotton lace mixed with metallic is a pretty contrast. Alternately, I might bring in some gold shoes or a scarf with a bit of gold woven in. You can do a lot - wide legged trousers with heels would also look awesome or even jeans. A lace dress. Etc. What do you think? How would you wear this?

1. Lace blouse by Isabel Marant, taken from my Pinterest.
2. Found sweater, Net A Porter.
3.Linen & Gold clutch available in our shop.
4.Wood bangles, found on Pinterest.
5. Harem pants from Zara.
6. Flats from Anthropologie.

P.S. Kitty was found! Not after many tears - and fears - but eventually late last night he was discovered hiding in a neighbor's garage. Phew! Nine lives is right...

This Little Guy

My little cat Beanjo went missing yesterday afternoon. I can barely think of anything but his safe return. Come home little buddy!

The Stella Clutch

I just uploaded a few new clutch bags to the shop. I really heart these three fabrics big time, especially that little tie dye number on the bottom. Only two available in each fabric so get 'em while they're hot!

The Almighty Clog

I have to admit to a sudden compulsion I am feeling to buy myself a pair of clogs. This actually makes me quite nervous as I had sworn off clogs many years ago. When I was 16 I wore a pair of vintage clogs. One night I was on my way to a poetry reading at the La Bohéme coffee house in my hometown of Victoria B.C. I only say this because it makes for a funny story, I mean now you know what kind of teenager I was.  Anyways, I stumbled and fell and broke my foot - it was the wooden clog! I had to wear a nasty cast for 2 months and I'll never forget it. And now here they are, sneaky little wooden shoes, creeping back into my life.
